Well, there I was, mosying along down I-80 with my crooked thumb high up in the air for all passersby, when suddenly, a bright red Porsche shining in the rain, pulled off in front of me. And I start thinking, by golly gee, I must've found myself a ride. So I start walking up to the driver's side window, all excited like, and let me tell you that window was black as tar, couldn't even see my own reflection in it. So I tapped on her, one, two, three, and that window started rolling down, all slow like inch by inch. And let me tell you, it was dark inside the car too, so I stuck my head right in that black hole to see who was about to give me a ride someplace. I said 'Well hello mister, my name's Johnny, it's awful nice of you to pull off here for me, where ya headed?'

"Oh, I don't know, I've just been driving around here for I don't know how long. Feels like all my life I've been on this lonely road, tryna drive away from all these horrible thoughts of mine. Do you ever get bad thoughts? Thoughts that intrude on ya? See my papa used to tell me when he was driving this car and I was sitting there in that seat, that if you went fast enough you could leave the whole world behind. So that's what I'm tryna do. Care to come with me?"

"Well, gee, mister, that sounds real nice. I'm rather tired of this sack of troubles Ive been carrying. Id be honored to accompany ya."

"All right Johnny, well hop in and buckle up."

"And, well, now we've been driving together for as long as I can recall and it sure is nice traveling along with my bbf, don't even matter if we get anywhere at all. I love you, Pauly."
